Happy Halloween!

So as many of you parents know, Halloween is far busier for kids then Thanksgiving and Christmas combined! We have had a really busy 2 weeks here in the Colbert household.

Last week, Hana and Kai went to Los Angeles and we went to Disneyland to see their Halloween festivities. Kai's favorite was the fireworks show at the end with the flying ghost dog-Zero. He also like the Buzz Lightyear game which as you can see from his score he did pretty good on his own. The competition was his Uncle John's girlfriend, Rosalind.

Meet Mr Roboto (aka Kai the robot) this Halloween. He has a great voice and dance that goes with the costume. The best part about the costume was that it was homemade but it has battery operated lights and a silver lame suit underneath. AWESOME!!

We have had many opportunities to wear it from the LMC Pumpkin Patch, School Costume Parade, Livermores Downtown Halloween Carnival and of course Trick or Treating on Halloween. He is very excited to get as much candy as possible.

Well in the next report, I will give you the cavity count! Have a Boo-tiful day friends and family!

Happy October!!

So I missed the 2 week agreement and it has been a month. Well during that time, we celebrated Kai's 4th Birthday!! He had a cool birthday party at the Vine Theaters where we screened BOLT with his friends present. He has been enjoying his toys as you can see.

Last weekend we went to the city for Fleet Week and Kai loved watching the Sea Lions fight but didn't like the smell.

Here is Kai's school pic!

Summer Re-Cap

I am such a bad blogger. Many of my friends, some of which will be reading this, are great bloggers! I am not that person. I am for boredom sake updating our blog so that I don't forget how to log into our account. So, here is my pledge: I, Hana Colbert, matriarch of the Colbert clan will update my blog at a minimum; bi-weekly!

So, what's new with us. Well, first and foremost we left our beautiful house on Cromwell and we are now in smaller house on Lillian on the other side of town. Long story short, we have fallen victim to the economy and to the housing market decline. We are salvaging what we can to protect the things that are most important; our family.

Also, Sept 4th marked our 10th wedding anniversary. Holy Shmokes! 10 years ago we started this clan in Coronado, CA amongst our family and friends.

Kai is now in the Panda class of this preschool and is loving it! He just shot up a few inches in height and increased his vocabulary 10-fold! He is a not stop chatterbug these days. I love his angst and attitude sometimes but I find it hard to hate as its mainly stuff he is repeating from me.

So the first pic is from a day at the Children's Museum in Saulsalito, then swim lesson, then from a family vacation to Yosemite.

Sunny Santa Cruz

On an extraordinary January weekend, the weather was in the 70's and so with my cousin Jasmine, who just moved here from Korea, and my brother John we ventured to Santa Cruz for the day.

We started with a visit to the Mystery Spot! John loves this place, Jasmine and Hana got motion sick, Kai got scared and Scott thinks its a sham.

We then headed to the Boardwalk where we had ice cream, rode the Carousel, played arcade games and won a cute lion for Kai.

Happy New Year!!!

So sorry it has been so long since I have updated our page but right after my last post, one of our cafeterias went through problem after problem and we were never home. However, my first new years resolution is to post more regularly.

So, here is an update. I will now be the big dog at the Bay Food Company, Inc. I will now be in business for myself and be working from home. A bit scary to be in charge of your own fate but exciting at the same time. The cool part will be that I can now put Kai in sports, music and art classes.

A sad update is that Scott is unemployed again, a very long story that I won't bore you with but he is back to looking again. We are hoping that all the government jobs he had been waiting for come thru soon.

As for Kai, his vocabulary and use of full sentences has greatly improved. He is filled with a drive for freedom and so it comes out as a lot of whining in frustration that his parents aren't doing what he wants. He performed in his schools performance and he was great. He was awfully cute!

Our holiday was nice and filled with quiet time at home with family. Scott's dad flew in to see Kai's performance and will be here till after the new year. He wanted to make sure he saw PENN STATE kick USC's butt in the ROSE BOWL. If PENN STATE wins, the Colberts (i.e. Hana) will have a great year as Scott should be ecstatic.

Well we wish all of our friends and family a Happy New Year! May you be blessed with health, happiness and prosperity. Love you guys!!

Happy October!

Can you believe it is already October? We have been busy with the Bay Food Company (our family business) and of course keeping up with Kai. The first pic is this years school picture. Do you like the scar on his forehead? Don't you hate how they do that.
The next pic is of me on the 3 Day Walk I completed in September. I know, it took me a month to get a picture up. Told you I was busy...lol!
The next pic is at Jonah's b-day party and look at my little man surrounded by a bunch of beautiful ladies. I am either proud or nervous, not really sure.
One last thing to update you on is that Kai turned 3! We had a great chef birthday party with jump house, personalized pizzas and lots of friends. It was a geat day and the week ended with a surprise trip to Disneyland and California Adventure. Can anyone say "spoiled"?
Anyways, love and miss you guys! Wish all of you a great month!
