So first, Happy Fathers Day to all you Dads, grandfathers, godfathers and wannabe Dads. Today, our family went to tour the USS Hornet in Alameda, CA. We held Scott's retirement ceremony there but were unable to tour with all the festivities. On board today, they had special activities going on like bringing planes up from the hangar bay up to the flight deck. We were able to ride one of the elevators down and boy was Kai surprised by the floor dropping beneath him. Even I was shocked at the speed in which it dropped. We were also able to check out the planes, the helicopters and even got a tour of the "island" the pilot house. The picture of Kai is him sitting in the Captains Chair in the flight control booth. I told Kai to do everything Daddy did and so when Scott looked up, so did Kai. If he walked in a zig zag, so did Kai. It was Simon or "Daddy Says" all day long. It warmed my heart to see my 2 guys having a great day. Afterwards, we came home and all passed out for a nap, then after dinner went and got ice cream. A great day to celebrate a great Dad!
